Every year on Lunar New Year, the Union members of the College of Natural Sciences visit the children at the Huong Duong orphanage in Cai Tac Town, Chau Thanh A district, Hau Giang province. Currently, there are 29 children including 17 boys and 12 girls at the Huong Duong orphanage. They are all at the school age from kindergarten to college. Because of the complicated pandemic situation, they have not been able to visit their relatives since May 2021. According to Ms. Thuan, the manager of the orphanage, they are very obedient and fully participate in online learning. After class time, they will help to take care of the campus and participate in some sports activities.
Not as the previous years, students in the College of Natural Sciences would come and play with the children. They helped the children have more fun by playing some group activities. This year, due to the pandemic situation, we visited the children without student activities. We gave them Tet gifts, including new clothes, cakes, fresh milk, and some necessities. The children were very excited when they put on the new clothes we brought. We feel very happy when seeing the cheerful face of children. Every year, this social activity is always got extra funding from some lecturers in this College to have more gifts for the children.
Ms. Thuan gave the appreciation letter to the College and the sponsors for loving heart.
