On July 5, 2026, the Faculty of Chemistry, College of Natural Sciences, held a meeting with Mr. Ha Chan Huy, a Ph.D. candidate at North Carolina State University (USA) and an alumnus of the Chemistry program (Cohort 38). The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Thi Kim Nga – Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry together with faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students.
During the meeting, Mr. Ha Chan Huy introduced current research directions in organic chemistry and shared information on graduate admissions, scholarship opportunities, and academic programs at North Carolina State University. Drawing on his experience studying and conducting research in the United States, he also provided practical advice on selecting research topics, identifying potential faculty supervisors, planning an academic pathway, and developing the essential skills needed to pursue scientific research in an international environment.
The meeting also featured the “Green Plants, Red Light” experiment, which gave students an opportunity to explore the behavior of plant pigments and sparked their interest in scientific research. On this occasion, the participants also discussed potential research collaborations and fully funded scholarship opportunities in the United States for students planning to apply for admission in the Spring 2027 semester.
