On July 2, 2026, the College of Natural Sciences, Can Tho University, hosted a scientific seminar entitled “Hydrogen Sensing, Spintronics, and Emerging Functional Materials: Research Directions and Opportunities for Students” presented by Assoc. Prof. Tho Nguyen (Director of Graduate Studies, Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Georgia). The event was attended by Prof. Nguyen Thanh Tien - Vice Rector, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Phong - Dean of the Faculty of Physics, together with faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students of the Faculty of Physics.

      During the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Tho Nguyen introduced current research trends in hydrogen sensing, spintronics, and emerging functional materials. He also shared valuable insights into academic, research, and career development opportunities for students pursuing studies in materials physics. In addition to the scientific presentation, the event provided an opportunity for faculty members and students to engage in discussions with the speaker on research directions, international collaboration, graduate education, and interdisciplinary research opportunities.

      The seminar was conducted in an open, engaging, and intellectually stimulating atmosphere, fostering academic exchange, strengthening research collaboration, and inspiring students, graduate students, and faculty members in their pursuit of scientific research and innovation.
