On October 24, 2025, the College of Natural Sciences was honored to welcome Prof. Nguyen Phuoc Tai (Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Masaryk University, Czech Republic) during his visit and working session with the Department of Mathematics. The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Tai, Vice Dean, together with faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students of the Mathematics Department.

During the meeting, Prof. Nguyen Phuoc Tai introduced scholarship opportunities for Master’s and PhD programs in the Czech Republic in general, and at Masaryk University in particular. Prof. Tai also gave an academic talk on Moser–Trudinger inequalities for orthonormal functions, a class of inequalities that plays a crucial role in the theory of partial differential equations. The Department of Mathematics also contributed a talk by Dr. Lam Hoang Chuong on central limit theorems for bilateral birth–death processes in random environments.

The meeting opened up promising prospects for research collaboration between Prof. Tai and the Department of Mathematics, while providing valuable insights for students and graduate students regarding study and research opportunities in the Czech Republic.
