On August 24th 2019, the College of Natural Sciences (CNS), Can Tho University (CTU) associated with the School of Education - CTU, the Faculty of Physics and Institute of Physics, National Chiao Tung University, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, TaTung University organizing the Vietnam – Taiwan bilateral workshop on Condensed Matter Physics to exchange and discuss scientific research results in specialized fields of particle physics, computational physics as well as the applications of industrial materials. The participants included representatives from CNS and the School of Education - CTU, the Faculty of Physics and Institute of Physics, National Chiao Tung University, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, TaTung University, Ton Duc Thang University, along with lecturers, PhD students, graduate students and undergraduate students inside and outside CTU.
The workshop was also an opportunity for graduate students and undergraduate students of Engineering Physics and Pedagogy of Physics to approach new knowledge about Condensed Matter Physics and its practical applications. In addition, students will be able to seek opportunities for Master / PhD scholarships at the National Chiao Tung University and TaTung University.
On August 26th 2019, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Buu Hue, Dean of CNS, CTU and Prof. Shinuan Huei Lin, Dean of Department of Physics, National Chiao Tung University along with lecturers of two universities discussed and signed the cooperative training program “Dual PhD Program of Theoretical and Mathematical Physics”. Accordingly, a PhD student of the Department of Physics, CNS, CTU participating in this program will receive two Ph.D degrees from CTU and Chiao Tung University.
