On 10 October 2023, the Department of Mathematics had a meeting with Prof. Feng-Nan Hwang and Prof. Shang-Yuan Shiu (Department of Mathematics, National Central University, Taiwan). The meeting had the presence of lecturers, students, and graduate students of the department.
During the meeting, in addition to introducing the structure, personnel and main research directions of the Department of Mathematics, Central National University, the two professors also presented master's and doctoral scholarships.
The meeting also included three academic reports: Prof. Feng-Nan Hwang talked about some applications of finite element methods, Prof. Shang-Yuan Shiu presented some new results on phase analysis for a form of stochastic diffusion equation, and Dr. Nguyen Duy Cuong presented the application of metric regularity properties in Newton's algorithm to solve generalized equations.
On this occasion, two professors also interviewed 03 candidates for the doctoral scholarship program at the University. These candidates are waiting for responses from two professors shortly.
At the end of the session, the two sides discussed student exchange programs, short-term visit/working programs for lecturers, and 1+1 dual master's degree programs, opportunities for scientific research cooperation between the two sides. In the near future, the two sides will continue to discuss and promote the next steps in establishing the above cooperative relationships.
